certified organic plantation and latex foam is
manufactured while protecting the local communities
livelihood and the environment from toxic discharge. |

GOTS is recognized as the world's leading processing
standard for textiles made from organic fibers. It
defines high-level environmental criterial along the
entire organic textiles supply chain and requires
compliance with social criteria as well |
To
achieve GOLS certification a product must contain more
than 95% of certified organic raw material. The GOLS
standard features permissible limits for harmful
substances, emission test requirements and polymer and
filler percentages. |
The
aim of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is to
define requirements to ensure organic status of
textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through
environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing
up to labeling. |

Organic cotton is genderally grown in subtropical
countries such as India, Turkey, China, and parts of the
USA, from non-genetically modified plants, and without
the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals such as
fertilizers of pesticides. |
Starting out as a seed, that grows into the Hevea
Brasiliensis Tree, originally only native to the Amazon
Rainforest. When grown the tree is tapped like maple
syrum, where a white, milky substance is tapped. |
On
site inspection and certification of processors,
manufacturers and traders performed by independent
specially accredited bodies is the basis of the GOTS
monitoring system in order to provide a credible
assurance. |
